Our Purpose
The OCM BOCES Board of Education (BOE) establishes policies, contributes to the development of the strategic plan, helps develop community partnerships and provides input to and approves the annual budget which is developed by the administration based on the needs of our component school districts.
Similar to component school districts, the OCM BOCES BOE oversees the education of students and is responsible for the supervision of the District Superintendent. It does not directly run the district’s day-to-day operations, which are handled by the OCM BOCES administrative team.
The OCM BOCES Board of Education consists of eleven members who represent the geography of the 23 component districts OCM BOCES supervisory district. OCM BOCES BOE members are nominated and elected by the school boards of the 23 districts in the supervisory district.
